1) What is Song Submit?
Song Submit is a music-forwarding service connecting music producers
with Record Label A&R, Music Management, and Music Production
Teams on a solicited level. When your music is selected, it
is forwarded directly to Record Label A&R and Music Executives
where it is guaranteed to be reviewed & considered for placement.
Per campaign, initial song uploads cost $10, all subsequent
song uploads cost $5. |
2) Why use Song Submit?
For the cost you'd spend mailing your music to Record Labels
without permission or promise of review, Song Submit guarantees
your music gets reviewed and, if selected, gets forwarded as
solicited. ModernBeats holds direct relationships with Label
A&R and Music Executives throughout the industry who respect
the quality of music received from the Song Submit service.
Song Submit offers music producers an excellent way to connect
with music industry leaders and get their music discovered.
Plus, Song Submit is virtually FREE! |
3) How is Song Submit virtually FREE?
For every campaign you enter, you will receive a $20 OFF coupon
at the end of that campaign. For example, your cost for uploading
3 songs to a campaign would be $20 ($10 for the 1st song upload,
plus $5 for the 2nd upload, and $5 for the 3rd upload). Your
costs are recouped at the end of each campaign when you are
issued the $20 OFF coupon. The coupon can be applied to any
ModernBeats sound, loop, music contracts, or hit report products. |
4) How can I use the $20 coupon I get after each campaign?
For every campaign you enter, you will receive a $20 OFF coupon
at the end of that campaign. The coupon can be applied to any
soundsets, loopsets, music contracts, or hit report products
found on ModernBeats.com, MPCsounds.com, BuyaBeat.com, and Hit
Talk (www.modernbeats.com/hit-talk). |
5) How long will it take to get my music reviewed?
When you first upload to a campaign, your music's initial status
is "Review Pending". By the time the campaign's closing
date is reached, all your music will be reviewed and statuses
updated within 48 hours. In addition to logging into your account
24/7 to see your music's latest status, you'll also be contacted
by email within 48 hours of a campaign closing, showing you
each song's final status. |
6) Is selected music guaranteed to be forwarded as
solicited material?
Yes, ModernBeats has established relationships and agreements
set in place with all clients (Label A&R, Artist Management,
etc.) prior to a campaign's launch whereby all clients have
committed to guaranteed receipt and review of all music forwarded. |
7) Will my music be heard by Record Label A&R?
Yes, if your music is selected in a Record Label related campaign,
it is guaranteed to be reviewed and listened to by the receiving
Record Label's A&R Department as per agreement between ModernBeats
and the destination Record Label. |
8) Will my music be heard by Artist Management?
Yes, if your music is selected in a Artist Management related
campaign, it is guaranteed to be reviewed and listened to by
the receiving Music Manager as per agreement between ModernBeats
and the destination Artist Management company. |
9) Will I receive legal representation if a Label
wants to use my music?
Yes, specific Song Submit campaigns provide you with legal representation
by a Hollywood Entertainment Law Firm when a Record Label wants
to sign your music. |
10) Can I submit the same music to multiple Song
Submit campaigns?
Yes, you can submit the same music to as many Song Submit
campaigns as you desire. Your exposure is increased when submitting
relevant music to multiple campaigns seeking the same genre
of music. Song Submit clients review selected music only from
within their own campaigns. Submitting your music to multiple
campaigns ensures your selected music is reviewed multiple
times by multiple clients, not just once per campaign.
To increase the likelihood your music is reviewed by each
client, you need to participate in those campaigns directly.
The premise is if you believe your song is relevant to a specific
Song Submit campaign, then upload to that campaign. While
it's true selected music from past campaigns can get re-forwarded,
it is only if the music is relevant and if the client could
not meet objectives or find targeted music from the direct
campaign it ran.
Song Submit's music industry network includes contacts to
Def Jam Records, Capital Records, Universal Records, Columbia
Records, Island Records, Warner Bros. Records, Sony Music,
plus Film/TV contacts to music supervisors for America's Next
Top Model, MTV Networks, VH1, Comedy Central, BBC, Virgin,
NYC Prep, Beauty and the Geek, and Stager Invasion. Song Submit's
network of contacts is constantly growing. Submitting relevant
music to multiple campaigns increases your exposure.
|
11) Is it necessary to submit the same music to
multiple campaigns?
While it is not necessary, submitting your music to multiple
campaigns ensures your selected music is reviewed multiple
times by multiple clients, not just once per campaign. Song
Submit clients review selected music only from within their
own campaigns. To increase the likelihood your music is reviewed
by each client, you need to participate in those campaigns
directly.

client could not meet objectives or find targeted music from
the direct campaign it ran. |
12) Will my music be forwarded repeatedly to multiple
music executives?
Yes, if your music is selected in a Song Submit campaign,
not only will it be directly reviewed and considered by music
executives from that initial campaign, but we will also re-forward
your music to our additional A&R, Film/TV, and Music Publishing
contacts outside the initial campaign when applicable.
The bottom line is the more music you have selected across
multiple campaigns, the more your music gets forwarded to
key players in the music industry.
While we do re-forward selected music to our existing clients
outside of the initial campaign where the music was originally
selected, music is re-forwarded on an ask-basis. For example,
if a client runs a campaign on Song Submit and does not find
the music they need, then at that time Song Submit will suggest
for the client to review selected music from past Song Submit
campaigns in effort to help the client find the music they
need.
To increase the likelihood your music is reviewed by each

13) What's the difference between being selected &
receiving placement?
When your song is selected, it has been selected to be forwarded.
Being selected doesn't guarantee placement. Receiving placement
is when your song has been licensed or signed & will appear
on an album or broadcast. Probabilities of receiving placement
are determined by Label A&R & Music Executives once
your music has been forwarded. Regardless of placement, connecting
with executives is key. |
14) Is connecting with Label A&R as valuable as
having my song placed?
Yes, the music industry is all about networking and building
relationships. Song Submit enables music producers to connect
with Label A&R, Artist Management, & Music Production
Teams regardless if your song ends up in placement. Building
name recognition with music executives is essential for one's
music career. Song Submit gets music producers's names and music
into the hands of major industry players to help build crucial
recognition & connections. |
15) What is Song Submit's Refund Policy?
Song Submit has a no refund policy. Once you have purchased
an upload, no refunds will be granted. You are purchasing a
service to have your music reviewed for possible selection and
forwarding. Violation of Song Submit's refund policy will result
in a permanent ban from all Song Submit campaigns. No exceptions
allowed. |
16) How can I contact Song Submit?
You may contact Song Submit via email at song-submit [a|t] modernbeats
[d|o|t] com if you have a problem with your song uploads or
order. Note: Do not contact Song Submit
regarding your song status or why your song was issued a certain
